What a year it’s been for myself and my clients and friends. I thought now would be the ideal time to re-cap a few things and get your adrenaline pumping for more to come in 2012!

Firstly, well done to all those who completed the Weston Christmas Cracker on 11th Dec! It was fun as always, despite the threat of rain, but it held off nicely. Full Results Here.

So yes, to reviewing the year; We launched into 2011 with a new Website, Twitter Account & YouTube Channel – and the Facebook Page has continued to thrive and prove to be a great point of contact and place for debating various fitness related topics. If you don’t already, ‘Like’ the page and join the banter!

Later on in the year, we also announced a new partnership with the Centre for Sport Gym at the UWE Frenchay Campus, and have seen a steady number of clients get results from 1-1 training sessions there. We also continued our links with other local businesses who are vital to anyone who exercises regularly – Sports Massage with Creating Change Naturally & Physio/Sports Massage with The Physio Clinic, Bristol.

Outdoor sessions have been a particular success this year as well, again, with a number of clients achieving great results from training in parks, on hills, and with the very popular TRX Suspension Trainer.

So who are these people? Who are the clients who have given 100% and achieved in 2011?

* Rachel H. -

Having already done a 10K, and needing a goal to continue her weight loss, Rachel was inspired by the Great North Run, and duly signed up for what would be her first Half Marathon. Although daunted by the thought of running that far at first, Rachel stayed committed to the training schedule I provided for her, and was able to complete the run in a respectable time – a distance which she previously wasn’t convinced she could do. Her aim for 2012? Another Half Marathon and to beat her GNR time!

* Vanessa S. -

In February 2011, having trained right up until 4 days before going into labour, Vanessa gave birth to a lovely baby girl. After just a few weeks away from the gym, she was back. Having fortnightly sessions with myself, and attending the gym on her own up to 4-5 times a week. She made an incredible effort with her nutrition as well, and looked fantastic when she was chief bridesmaid at her sister’s wedding in August. Vanessa wasn’t finished there though. Her next target was to look the part for returning to work in Oct. With even more focus than before, she shed 10lbs and 5% body fat in just 5 weeks to go back to work with not just her pre-baby figure, but her pre marriage weight!

* Isobel H. -

Isobel had struggled for a long time, as many do, to tone up & lose that last stubborn bit of weight. Using tools such as the Vipr, TRX and Kettlebells, Isobel remained committed to training 3 x week, and is now the smallest and lightest she has been since before getting pregnant with her youngest son – 5 years ago!

* Martin C. -

Martin is one of the reasons I look forward to going to work. His work ethic in the gym is superb, and his sense of humor helps keep training fun. He has on a few occasions this year been a willing guinea pig as I try out new exercises and techniques. Martin’s job, like a lot of people’s in this day and age, involves a lot of sitting down, at the desk, in meetings, in the car. So my aim is to get him up and about and moving in as many different ways as possible. His level of effort in training sessions has even been noticed by other gym users, and for this he should be hugely commended.

There are so many more clients I could mention here, but that gives you an idea of the work I do with my clients, and the effort they are motivated to put in.

Keep checking the Facebook Page & this site in 2012 for more from Summit Personal Training, have a very happy and healthy New Year!
